| What is Ayurveda? |
Ayurveda is a holistic healing science; it is as old the Vedic ancient civilization and means „the knowledge about life“. This medical science has its roots in the most ancient healing tradition of mankind and was developed and transmitted by the Indian doctors - “Rishis”- almost 4000 years ago. Ayurveda is practised all over the world and has been recognised by the WHO. Some Austrian insurance agencies reimburse your expenses for ayurvedic treatment. Ayurveda deals with all aspects of life beginning from birth leading up to death. It is a medical science that searches into all that is human, regarding health as well as ill health. The three energies in our body: Vata, Pitta und Kapha are very decisive factors of our constitutional harmony. As soon as the balance of these factors is disturbed, you will experience restlessness and illnesses can easily overwhelm you. Ayurveda helps the healthy to safeguard their health und the sick to recover it again.

| Ayurvedic abstinence for health |
Ayurvedic abstinence for health is the oldest and the most natural method of all healing processes. According to Ayurveda it is important that persons from the age of 30 keep regular periods of abstinence. The reduction of weight is not the main aim at all, much more, getting the body freed from all toxins. Abstinence leads to an interior self-cleaning of all organs. The body will be purified of all metabolic toxins through the oil massage and through the treatment of the Panchakarma under the supervision of a doctor. A further advantage of the abstinence is that the feeling of hunger gets reduced to a great extend. It is easy to practise abstinence in a group. That is why we stress the importance of walks in groups, common practice of Yoga and meditation during the period of abstinence. Ayurvedic abstinence for health has proved to be of a special healing value for persons suffering from asthma, skin diseases, rheumatism, overweight and migraine. It is possible, with the help of abstinence, to make a new beginning in life, thus achieving a better feeling for the body, soul and spirit.
